Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa Trekking (L/D)
You will be picked up at your hotel in Hanoi at around 7:30am for your drive to Sapa, arriving at roughly 12:30pm. Here your local tour guide will take you to a restaurant for a traditional lunch before commencing your hike. You will start by hiking towards the hill tribe villages of Lao Chai, inhabited by the H’mong ethnic group. You will stop for lunch in a local house before continuing to the Giay village of Ta Van, where you’ll have the opportunity for cultural exploration before enjoying a traditional home-cooked dinner and overnight stay in a local homestay with a host family.
This day includes 7 to 10 kilometres of trekking.
Day 2: Sapa Trekking – Hanoi
After a delicious breakfast at the homestay, say goodbye to your host family and prepare for a 3-4 hour trek along buffalo paths to Giang Ta Chai Village, inhabited by the Black H’mong. Here you’ll relax at the foot of an enormous hydroelectric dam constructed by the French during colonial times, before returning to Sapa Town in the afternoon. The rest of your afternoon will be free to spend in the town before 3pm which is when our driver will pick you up for your drive back to Hanoi, arriving back in the capital at around 8:30pm.
