How to get to Sapa
Sapa Town belongs to Lao Cai Province. Sapa can be reached directly by car or bus. Trains run to Lao Cai City which is around 60km from Sapa.

2/ SHUTTLE BUS HANOI ↔ SAPA
Mr Linh's Adventures provides a shuttle bus from our office at 83 Ma May Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi to Sapa Town. The bus is a Ford Transit Minivan with a capacity of 14 people. It is used solely as a tourist bus and is not used as public transport. THe bus departs at around 06:00 from the office. If your hotel is in the Old Quarter, we can arrange to collect you from your hotel. If you are staying outside of the Old Quarter, you will need to make your own way to the office. 3/ TRAIN TO SAPA
The train runs from Hanoi to Lao Cai. Most trains run overnight, departing Hanoi in the evening and arriving in Lao Cai in the early morning.
How to get to the train station:
Hanoi Train Station can be found at 120 Le Duan Street. It is around 2 km from Old Quarter. We recommend taking a taxi or motorbike taxi to the train station.
How to buy a train ticket:
- At the ticket booth, you should choose a ticket from Hanoi-Lao Cai. The best option is the SP1 to SP8 train as it is usually faster than the LC1 to LC10.
- It is best to book in advance as this is a busy route and can sell out at times.

The train's final destination is Lao Cai Station which is roughly 60km from Sapa. Once in Lao Cai, you can take any local bus which has"Lao Cai-Sapa" on the sign. The nearest bus stop is in front of the gas station. The local bus will take around half an hour to get to Sapa Town.
4/ LOCAL BUSES TO SAPA
Local buses run directly to Sapa Town.
Although the bus operators will make every effort to operate according to published schedules, the travel times and route can change depending on local conditions.
-Travellers can take a bus from one of the following bus stations:
+Luong Yen Bus Station: No. 3 Nguyen Khoai Street, 2km from the Old Quarter.
+Gia Lam Bus Station: No 9 Ngo Gia Kham Street, 6km from the Old Quarter.
+My Dinh Bus Station: No 20 Pham Hung Street, 10km from the Old Quarter.
When you arrive at the bus station, we recommend that you look for the Hung Thanh Bus Company as they have good buses with comfortable sleeper seats. The tickets cost approximately 15 USD and can be bought in the ticket booth or in advance. We recommend booking the ticket in advance as this is a busy route. Most buses depart at around 20:00 and travel throughout the night, reaching Sapa the following morning. Please arrive at the station 30-40 minutes prior to the departure.
From thai nguyen
Buses from Thai Nguyen connect Cao Bang and Ba Be to Sapa.
Buses depart from Thai Nguyen Bus Station at 19:00 and arrive in Lao Cai at 05:00 the following the morning. From here you need to take another bus to Sapa.
-You should take a taxi or motorbike taxi to Thai Nguyen Bus Station in Luong Ngoc Quyen Street.
-At Thai Nguyen Bus Station, you need to buy an overnight sleeper ticket to Lao Cai. Please make sure to choose the bus to Lao Cai Bus Station.
-The bus will go directly to Lao Cai Bus Station, arriving at 05:00. From here, you can catch a local bus to Sapa which runs every hour from 05:00 to 17:30 and takes around 45 minutes.
From ba be national park
-One day in advance, please ask your host to arrange for the bus driver to pick you up from the lake. There are 2 buses running early in the morning, at 05:00 and 06:00. The bus will take you to Thai Nguyen.
- When you arrive Thai Nguyen in midday. The next step is buying an overnight sleeping ticket to Lao Cai. For a detailed guide, please see the above paragraph. All buses depart in the evening meaning you will have half a day in Thai Nguyen. We recommend that you visit the Thai Nguyen Museum of Ethnology at No 1 Doi Can Street.
